The Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan Centre for Studies in Environmental Law, Policies and Advocacy, in association with IQAC, St. Dominic’s College of Law, Kanjirappally, organized an interactive session with Mr. Eby Emmanuel P. in commemoration of World Water Day.

A passionate environmentalist and community leader, Mr. Eby has been instrumental in developing the Meenachil River & Rain Monitoring Network, a community-based flood early warning system along the Meenachil River, engaging local communities and students in climate action which has been honoured with the prestigious Naattusoothram Award by Manorama News for its contributions to climate change studies in hilly regions.

The session was highly enriching and thought-provoking, focusing on climate change, water resource management, and community-driven environmental monitoring initiatives. It provided our students with valuable insights into the practical dimensions of environmental protection and sustainability.

The Centre expresses its sincere gratitude to the resource person, Mr Eby Emmanuel P., for his enlightening session. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our students for their active participation and support, which contributed significantly to the success of the programme.

An Industrial Visit was organized for the Second Semester BBA LL. B. ( HONS.) students for forging ties with dynamic industrial space as part of their learning. The Industrial Ally was the Conemara Tea Estate, Vandiperyar owned by the Tropical Plantations, Idukki.
A total of 46 students accompanied by three faculty members participated in the visit.

The visit provided the students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to the functioning of a tea plantation and the tea production process. During the visit, students explored the plantation area and observed various stages involved in tea cultivation and processing. They also had the opportunity to interact with the marketing and production managers, who explained the operational aspects of the estate, including production techniques and marketing strategies.

Overall, the industrial visit was highly informative and beneficial for the students, as it helped them understand the practical aspects of plantation management, production processes, and marketing in the tea industry.

⚖️ Orientation on Mooting
The Moot Court Society of St. Dominic's College of Law, Kanjirappally successfully organized an Orientation on Mooting on 10 March 2026.
The session was led by Prof. (Dr.) K.C. Sunny
(Former Vice Chancellor, NUALS & Former Professor of Law, Central University of Kerala).

The programme introduced students to the basics and importance of mooting, helping them take their first step towards developing research, advocacy, and courtroom skills required to become confident future advocates.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Kokila Konasinghe, Head, Department of Public & International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, for delivering an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on “Green Dreams or Nightmares: Insights into the Role of Environmental Law in the Future.”

"Policyshala: An Introduction to Public Policy", a workshop on public policy, was successfully conducted on 20 February 2026 at St. Dominic's College of Law, Kanjirappally. The workshop was organized by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Public Policy Research in collaboration with CPPR Academy Kochi and in association with IQAC, aiming to provide valuable insights into public policy fundamentals.

The session was led by Adv. Anu Maria Francis, Senior Associate at the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), who guided participants through the intricacies of shaping public decisions. Mr. Darshan Deepak, Project Associate, CPPR, was also present during the event.

The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of public policy, offering participants a deeper understanding of the subject.
