General meaning of Sedition is nothing but defamation.
However, in law, it is defined as all those acts, whether oral or written, by signs or visible representation which attempts to bring hatred or disaffection or enemity towards the government, or leads to people believing in opposition to Government.
The Government will be rethinking and re-examining the sedition law. The law was drafted by imperial England to crack down on India's freedom fighters. Guess how old is it ?
