Children are victimized within the four walls of their own home and not by strangers but by the same people whom they call their own. Child abusers come from all strata of society, including the victim’s family itself. Child abuse occurs when a parent or caregiver causes injury, death, emotional harm, or the risk of serious harm to a child, whether through act or omission.
