अमर्त्य सेन को चाहिए की अपनी असफलता की जिम्मेदारी लेते हुए नैतिकता के आधार पर त्यागपत्र दे न की विवाद पैदा करके I विद्वान होने का मतलब हर काम में माहिर होना नहीं होता, यह बात हमे और हमारी सरकारों को समझनी होगी I वरना कोई आश्चर्य की बात नहीं होगी अगर हम पाएं की किसी साहित्यकार को किसी एटॉमिक एनर्जी कमीशन का चेयरमैन बना दिया गया है I

The US Department of Justice is considering bringing criminal charges against HSBC and its executives as part of its investigation into whether the bank’s Swiss subsidiary helped US clients evade taxes. Not only this but the Spanish government is also considering legal action against HSBC after it emerged that its private bank in Switzerland helped its clients dodge tax authorities around the world.

The income tax department is expected to file a complaint against HSBC bank for abetting tax evasion in India by way of unauthorized operation of accounts. Complaint against bank is expected to be filed under Section 278 of the I-T Act. This Section of the I.T Act deals with abatement of false returns. These accounts pertain to the time period of 2006-07 and would get "time barred" after 31 March. The I-T Department would be barred to question these accounts after that date. The basic question arises in the mind that why are we waiting for 11th hour to facilitate these accused to get benefit of these technicalities?

Government all set to withdraw ‘frivolous and ineffective cases’ to reduce pendency of cases in courts! The biggest litigant in the country, i.e. the government is all set to take steps that will reduce the number of pending cases in various courts of the country. Reportedly, the Ministry of Law and Justice has drafted a 10 point litigation policy and has even shared it with states. The Ministry has asked the states to review all the pending litigations.
The policy is set to promote arbitration and mediation as methods of dispute resolution, with government introducing mandatory arbitration and mediation clause in work contracts and also its contracts with public sector employees.
Reportedly, the Union Law Ministry has also sent a letter to Chief Justices of all the High courts and has asked them to invoke Section 258 of Code of Criminal Procedure by virtue of which court has “Power to stop proceedings in certain cases.” Meanwhile, some states have already started working on reducing pendency, as Himachal Pradesh has framed guidelines to remove ‘stale’ and ‘ineffective’ criminal cases.

Two committees have been set up to inquire into the complaint against the assistant registrar Dr Narendra Narottam, who was the university’s registrar-in-charge when the complaint was made

जब तक काले धन पर कोई कार्यवाही नहीं हो रही थी तो मीडिया सरकार के ढुलमुल रवैये को लेकर खिचाई कर रहा था और अब जब कार्यवाही हो रही है तो वही मीडिया जिन लोगों का नाम काले धन को लेकर उजागर हुआ है उनके साथ खड़ा नजर आ रहा है …..कहीं ये उसी काले धन का असर तो नहीं?

आखिर क्यों नहीं हैं ऐसे ही सख्त मानक भारत में भी. यहाँ तो जो भी चाहे कुछ भी बनाये और उसे चमत्कारी दवा कह कर बेच दे. कैंसर से लेकर शुगर तक सब की दवाओं के विज्ञापन से भरे पड़े रहते हैं अख़बार. बेरोकटोक होता है ये अवैध कारोबार.कई बार तो न निर्माता का पता होता है न डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर का, सब कुछ फ़ोन नंबर्स पर चलता है. क्यों नहीं दिखते ये विज्ञापन सरकार या प्रशासन में बैठे लोगों को?
