Today we're taking a trip not just down memory lane but a trip to the beautiful city of Swansea, where we are taking a look at the old David Evans Store!

David Evans & Co were established in 1900! After the Second World War the original building was all but destroyed by German bombs and the flagship building was rebuilt in 1954 and remained as a synonymous and iconic piece of Swansea history, where the store sold everything from furniture to gardening equipment, across multiple floors!

Sadly the building was closed down in 2005 and subsequently demolished in 2007 and was replaced by a shopping development.

We’re sure our Swansea followers felt a little nostalgic seeing this post so we would love to hear some stories from anyone who regularly shopped there in the comments below!

Throwback Thursday!

Today we visit an Aberdare staple, the Aberdare Woolworths store that used to occupy the B&M Bargains building!

This Woolworths opened 103 years ago, in 1919! It was the third Woolworths store to open in Wales and was the oldest surviving store in Wales by 2008 but unfortunately had to close its doors in December of 2008 due to severe financial difficulties.

I’m sure seeing this photo is a blast from the past for our Aberdare following, it sure was for us!
