“Rather than temporary support measures and quick prop ups for first-time buyers, it could make far more difference to Generation Rent if we could have them equipped to buy from the very start of their rental journey.”

The chief finance officer of a PropTech company says the effects of the stamp duty holiday on house prices must not consign people into thinking they face a lifetime of renting.

“Whether the Government will do more to offer long-term tenancies across the board remains to be seen, but certainly for the time being, the build to rent sector continues to pick up the slack and provide the rental accommodation that residents want, rather than having little other choice but to inhabit.”

An overwhelming majority of tenants want longer-term tenancies, reports build to rent specialists Ascend Properties.

According to the government’s latest English Private Landlord Survey, almost half of landlords only own one rental property, making them particularly vulnerable to rent arrears. These small-time landlords – many of them ‘accidental’ landlords – may rely on the rent to pay their mortgage or even meet their own rental payments. Even landlords who hold larger portfolios will rely on the rents as their income. In both cases, tenants in arrears can be a huge drain on their finances.

Whether or not you used our background checking and tenancy agreement services, Rogue Tenants stands ready to help you resolve the issues quickly and efficiently, and more often than not without resorting to an eviction or possession proceeding.

Please get in touch whenever you need us for a no-obligation chat. Our initial consultation is FREE. buff.ly/3i4ukc6

Private landlords can find themselves in a difficult position, as they do not enjoy the same rights and protections that social landlords gained from the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014. Many private landlords believe that their only options for dealing with difficult tenants were putting up with the bad behaviour or initiating eviction/possession proceedings.

Because of this, many legal teams only work with social landlords to resolve these kinds of issues without initiating possession proceedings.

However, Rogue Tenants can offer you several less combative and more effective options. We work closely with police and Local Authorities to protect you and your property from the anti-social behaviour of your tenants, and to resolve issues without ill-feeling or ending the tenancy agreement.

We specialise in offering meditation and legal enforcement proceedings that ensure that your property and income stream are protected, and that a few bad tenants don’t spoil the enjoyment of everyone else in your buildings!
