🏃‍♀️𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕! 🏅

We're incredibly proud (and slightly amazed! 😄) to share that our colleague Elena has signed up to run the London Marathon in aid of Parkinson's UK.

Now, there's just one small detail... at the moment, Elena can't quite run 5K! 🫣

But if there's one thing we know about Elena, it's that she's determined, resilient, and never afraid of a challenge. Over the coming months, we'll be sharing weekly updates on her training journey, from those first difficult miles to crossing the finish line in London.

💙 Elena has chosen to support Parkinson's UK, a charity that is very close to her heart, and she's taking on this incredible challenge to help raise awareness and vital funds for their important work.

We'll also be publishing Elena's blog on our website very soon, where she'll share more about her personal connection to the cause and why Parkinson's UK means so much to her.

🎓 𝘼 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝, 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚

As my placement year at Thomas & Thomas Solicitors comes to an end, I can honestly say it has been one of the most valuable experiences of my university journey.

While studying law provided a strong academic foundation, I wanted to see how legal principles are applied in real life. Working within our Conveyancing team has given me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop professional skills, and build confidence in a busy legal environment.

Throughout the year, I've had the chance to communicate with clients, work alongside solicitors and other professionals, assist with legal documentation, and gain a deeper understanding of property law in practice. I've learned the importance of organisation, attention to detail, effective communication, and delivering excellent client care.

Most importantly, I've grown in confidence. What felt unfamiliar at the start of the placement soon became routine thanks to the support, guidance and encouragement of the incredible team around me.

To any student considering a placement year, my advice is simple: embrace every opportunity, ask questions, stay organised, and get involved. The experience you'll gain is invaluable.

Today we're celebrating our four-legged friends, and of course, our very own office mascot, Berti! 🐶

Laura qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive lawyer in October 2010 and has more than 20 years’ experience in conveyancing, specialising in complex and non-standard property matters at both high street and corporate law firms in South Wales. She is based in the Bridgend branch office and is the supervisor and trainer for all conveyancing staff.

Laura specialises in Commercial and Residential Conveyancing and Regulatory Compliance. She also won the Rising Star Modern Law Conveyancing Award 2016 and was a finalist in the UK Customer Experience Professional of the Year awards 2017. 🌟
