An interesting case. Councils have to ensure that they are paying a fair fee to care homes otherwise we end up with a situation where private funders are subsidising the Council and that cannot be right.

With tens of thousands of care staff loosing their jobs last Thursday due to a law requiring them all to be double-jabbed with the COVID-19 vaccine, some care homes have been forced to close beds and refuse to take on new patients. Care homes have been finding things difficult since before the pandemic started due to local authorities keeping their fees down and yet staffing costs increasing.
