Great news on a Friday morning for unmarried couples. The government has launched a co consultation on reforms that would give unmarrried couples automatic inheritance rights. Hopefully this will go some way to offering more protection 🤞

Yes, that is correct. The husband, wife or civil partner keeps all the assets (including property), up to £322,000, and all the personal possessions, whatever their value.

The remainder of the estate will be shared as follows:

50% to the husband, wife or civil partner and

50% is divided equally between the surviving children. This includes adopted children but does not include step-children.

Another lovely client review. Mr & Mrs Vaughan wanted their Wills updated and when reviewing their documents I identified that their alerting Power of Attorney's had not been registered 😖🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ That is one of the benefits of a free will review with me.
