📢 New employment rights could provide greater support for those experiencing bereavement or pregnancy loss.

The Government has announced plans to extend bereavement leave rights to a wider range of family relationships, including step-relatives, adoptive families, foster families and those in kinship care arrangements.

In addition, women and their partners who experience pregnancy loss before 24 weeks could be entitled to up to two weeks' unpaid leave.

These proposed changes recognise the significant emotional impact of grief and loss and aim to provide employees with the time and support they need during some of life's most difficult moments.
