Buying a home comes with a whole new vocabulary. “Exchange” and “completion” sound almost interchangeable. Which is unhelpful, because they mean different things.

Exchange is when contracts are exchanged and the sale becomes legally binding.

Completion is when the money is transferred, the purchase is completed and you get the keys.

Then comes the important business of remembering which box you packed the kettle in 😅
