IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO APPLY FOR SETTLEMENT (ILR) IN THE UK - BIG CHANGES ARE COMING!
The Home Office has published a new Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules, and one of the most important updates is this:
From 26 March 2027, the English language requirement for settlement will increase from B1 to B2 level for a number of immigration routes. This includes not only work and business routes, but also certain family settlement routes.
This means the change may affect people applying for ILR on family life routes, as well as applicants on routes such as Skilled Worker, Global Talent, Scale-up, Innovator Founder, Long Residence, Private Life and others.
If you are planning to apply for settlement in the next 12 to 24 months, it is important to check your route carefully and prepare early, especially if you may need to meet the new B2 English requirement.
