Yesterday our family lost a true matriarch. A beloved mother, aunt and grandma who was not only strong, determined and hard working but loving, generous and nurturing. Some of the best days of my childhood were with this wonderful lady and I am so privileged that she had a deep impact on my life as an adult as well. Even in her final year and in-spite of the various lockdown restrictions I’m so grateful that she got to spend quality time with her granddaughter and we had a chance to see that love. She is truly an inspiration who will continue to inspire the strong women of our family for generations to come. Love you Grandma with all our hearts.

2020 - a year we will never forget....what a sh*t show. Like so many others, 2020 has been the most difficult year of my life. Having a baby is hard. Post natal depression is hard and very real. Becoming a mother isn’t something that come naturally to so many women and the guilt you feel about mourning your old life, your pre-pregnant body and your social self, overshadows the wonderful gift that you have been given in your baby. 2020 then brought a global pandemic, multiple lockdowns and social isolation, and for me, things bordered on unbearable. I was lucky enough to have the support of the wonderful perinatal team, my loving husband , my amazing friends and family and a new business venture , that made me feel like myself again. As the months went on, I began to enjoy Aurora’s company and willingly embrace my role as a mother. I began to like her, as well as love her. She now is the little hilarious, unbelievably cheeky, love of my life and whilst she is sometimes infuriating and I still feel like I’m doing a terrible job, it’s not met with a crippling sadness. Through this crazy year, it’s been a joy to hear her babbling and laughing (completely oblivious to the reality of life) and I cannot wait to spend 2021 with her... and hopefully some of you guys too. Well done to everyone for surviving 2020 and let’s hope for a much much better 2021!

Happy 1st Birthday Darling Aurora. What an odd first year it has been for you but, beautiful girl, it has been an adventure. You are so cute, loveable, infuriating, hilarious, a little monster, intelligent, fun and genuinely are the love of our life. This year has not been easy, however, watching you being completely oblivious to the craziness of the worlds problems, has brought so much joy in such darkness. We love you so much and look forward to next year.
