We are currently recruiting experienced Vehicle Body Builders to join a leading manufacturing business in Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position with a growing engineering company specialising in the manufacture of bespoke commercial vehicle solutions.
About the Role as a Vehicle Body Builder, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting specialist commercial vehicle bodies and components. Working in a modern manufacturing environment, you will use engineering drawings, hand and power tools to produce high-quality finished products while meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and fit commercial vehicle body structures and components
Install subframes, flooring, side panels and vehicle accessories
Read and interpret technical and 3D engineering drawings
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Carry out quality checks throughout the assembly process
Maintain a clean and organised work area
Work as part of a team to achieve production targets
Follow all health & safety procedures

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Vehicle Body Builder or within commercial vehicle manufacturing
Experience assembling and fitting vehicle body structures and components
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment

Desirable:

Experience with vehicle piping or wiring
Experience fitting vehicle accessories or specialist equipment

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotating days and nights (days one week, nights the next)

About the Role
As a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a busy manufacturing site. Working across both day and night shifts, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, supporting continuous improvement projects, and helping maximise equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and automation faults
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Support engineering improvement projects
• Contribute to site performance improvements using KPIs
• Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams
• Assist with coaching and training colleagues where required
• Support site engineering activities to ensure operational efficiency

What We're Looking For
• Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within a food manufacturing environment
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience with automation systems is advantageous
• Completed Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
• C&G 2346-03 Electro-technical qualification or relevant engineering experience
• HNC in Electrical, Automation or Multi-Skilled Engineering is desirable
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing business requirements
