Art/Law Network

Art/Law Network The Art/Law Network is a gathering of artists, lawyers, agitators, coming together to work and collaborate for change.

The network is a platform where artists can be in contact and collaborate with practitioners working within the law, the legal system, legal teaching and research. Similarly, the network provides a space where lawyers, activists, academics, thinkers of all creeds, can learn new open forms of law and legal thinking through bringing art into law. Participants in the Art/Law Network are Collaborators

. Projects between Collaborators of the Art/Law Network are Convergences. Contact [email protected] for more information on the network, collaborating and future convergence opportunities.

It is with deep sadness to let you know of the unexpected passing of our dearly loved Charlie Blake.

Charlie has been such an integral thinker to the Art/Law Network, stalwart supporter, agitator and philosopher in chief and generally unspeakably inspiring to all who came across him - thank you so much Charlie :D 🤍.

It would be wonderful to honour him in some way through the network in the times to come.

In the meantime we hope he will feel all our gratitude and love and wonder for the world sent back to him, that was infectious to all he came across.

Thank you Charlie xox

We at the are very grateful to the work of Artists Union England amongst other artists and organisations that expressed their outrage at Arts Council England guidelines against the funding of ‘controversial’ and politically sensitive works. A juncture in contemporary art and politics for time to come, they have retracted these guidelines given such shocked responses, but what does this say for the connection between law, aesthetics, power, institutionalisation and ultimately violence, whilst similarly we see protest laws closing in? A lot, we think. The art world is the law world
