Success is more meaningful when it's shared. Watching Dean Forbes ( ) celebrate topping the Power List was not just a testament to his incredible achievements but a powerful reminder of what it truly means to bring your community along on your journey.

Dean's story exemplifies excellence, resilience, and community spirit—rising to success against the odds, and using that platform to uplift others. It’s a lesson for all of us: our victories should inspire, empower, and pave the way for those around us. Let’s celebrate each other's wins, amplify our voices, and keep breaking barriers. Together, we rise.

I am thrilled to share the success of our recent mock trial, conducted as part of the Real World Learning Project with students from School 21. This experience was not just educational but truly inspiring for all involved.

A special thank you to HHJ Sharkey, HHJ Greene, and HHJ Dean for their invaluable participation. Your presence and guidance ensured that the trial reflected the true judicial process, making it an authentic learning experience for the students.

Gratitude also goes to Laura King, Madeleine Fitz-Gerald, and all the staff and team at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Your support was crucial in making this event a success.

This mock trial was an incredible opportunity to raise aspirations for students who often only interact with the criminal justice system in a negative way. On this occasion, it was positive, empowering, and enlightening. Each student got to participate actively in the trial, gaining firsthand experience of the legal process.

A special thank you to , the co-head of the Urban Lawyers educational team, whose dedication and hard work played a crucial role in the development of the Real World Learning Project.

Together, we are making a difference and showing these young minds the possibilities that lie ahead. Thank you to everyone involved!

From Morning side estate, Hackney to receiving an OBE at Windsor Palace, my journey shows anything's possible if you dare to dream and ask 'What if?' I was the first in my family to go to university, supported by a charity that believed in me. My mantra? 'What you do isn’t who you are. But who you are makes it all possible.' This means your actions show the world your true self, and your character creates your path.

I got where I am by never being afraid to ask for help and by working hard. I've gone from asking every customer at Sainsbury's for a chance to now being an barrister and helping others through Urban Lawyers

This OBE isn't just for me. It's for everyone who's been part of my journey and for every young person dreaming big. Remember, if you don’t ask, the answer is always no. Dream big, work hard, and keep asking 'What if?
