More needs to be done to support women who have endured this toxic culture.

But more needs to be done to remove the root cause of toxic culture in the first place.

All personnel should have the right to live and work within our armed forces free of harassment, misogyny and toxic cultures.

Women who served in the British military have said they endured a toxic culture where sexual abuse was an everyday threat and complaints were routinely ignored, reports ITV News 👉 https://buff.ly/E4hDEM9

This comes at the same time as the Ministry of Defence says it will crack down on sexual abuse, bullying and misogyny in all ranks of the British armed forces 👉 https://buff.ly/A2OMvUM

The recent headlines are a reminder that sexual harassment, abuse and sexual violence have no place in the Armed Forces. While the overwhelming majority of those who serve do so with professionalism, integrity and respect, we must continue to challenge unacceptable behaviour wherever it occurs.

Most importantly, we should recognise the immense courage it takes for survivors to come forward. They deserve to be heard, believed and supported.

In this piece, Natasha Mason reflects on the importance of leadership, accountability and collaboration in creating a culture where everyone can serve with dignity, safety and respect.

We hope it encourages conversation and reinforces why organisations working alongside the Armed Forces community have an important role to play in supporting those affected.
