The Start-Up visa is an immigration route designed by the UK government to attract top business talent. The Start-Up visa route is a flexible immigration option for international candidates who wish to set up an innovative business in the United Kingdom. Before applying, visa candidates will need to have their business idea evaluated by an appropriate endorsing body.

The visa is valid for 2 years without the possibility of extension. However, if the applicant is still continuously involved in the business, and the business is active, trading, and sustainable as endorsed by the relevant body, the applicant may be able to switch to the UK innovator visa.

Starting 6 April 2022, the new financial year, the United Kingdom updated the fees for immigration and nationality applications. Majority of application fees had been frozen for the last three years, and the rise was long expected. The average advance is £15 with some rates remaining unchanged.
