In light of the government's recent consultation on unmarried couples and cohabitation, we believe it is important to be aware of where you currently stand following the Rules of Intestacy.
Even if you have been living together for a decade, if unmarried, neither of you have any rights to each other's assets should one of you pass away. The Government Will (Rules of Intestacy) were put in place over 100 years ago, and as you can imagine, society was quite different back then.
There are many reasons people choose to not marry or to delay it. If you want peace of mind that your partner is protected, should you pass away first, then a Will is a safe option. You are also able to specify exactly what you wish for them to receive.
So, join us live to find out more from the 9th, going into midnight and early hours of Thursday the 10th of September.
