DON'T RUSH THE BIGGEST MOVE OF YOUR LIFE

Moving house is stressful enough without creating unnecessary deadlines.

"We have to be moved before Christmas."

"We need to be in before school starts."

"We have to complete by this date."

Deadlines create pressure.

Pressure can affect decisions.

One of the interesting things about Autumn is that, once the major school-year and Christmas deadlines begin to fall away, some buyers and sellers can approach their move with a little more flexibility.

And flexibility can make the process feel very different.

If you're planning for next spring, you have time to prepare.

Time to market properly.

Time to find the right buyer.

And time to look for the right next home rather than feeling you have to grab whatever is available.

A property move should be planned around achieving the best outcome for you — not simply racing a calendar.

That's another reason I think Autumn is underrated.
