Many congratulations to our partner, Helen Adam, who won two awards at the prestigious National Mediation Awards last night: Family Mediator of the Year and Child Inclusive Mediatior of the Year. The judges commented that there was ‘no doubt’ that Helen was absolutely committed to progressing change and demonstrating excellence in family mediation, championing the voice of the child at every opportunity. Well done Helen!

SEPARATED PARENTING WORKSHOP

As part of our service, we invite parents to attend our Separated Parenting Workshop devised and led by leading parenting expert Denise Ingamells. Denise was the original author of the national ‘SPIP’ programme and has recently been awarded the John Cornwell award for her outstanding contribution to family law.

The bespoke course has been devised to support parents in achieving a healthy parenting relationship. It offers them the opportunity to take part in a half day parenting workshop aimed at providing information and guidance about the transition made when parents separate, to cooperative parenting. Parents will not attend together, as it is important that they have space to share and learn from the course leader and other parents.

Fantastic that BBC News has picked up on the important work being done by Sir Andrew McFarlane and the Family Solutions Group which Helen Adam, one of our founding partners, has been involved with. A need for change in the language of family law and the way in which family disputes are dealt with.....

The language in family courts is also too hostile and often makes things worse, a top judge says.
