Landlords in Surrey and London, this is one to keep on your radar.

The new PRS Database is being introduced under the Renters’ Rights Act, with landlords required to register qualifying rental properties and keep that registration up to date.

The annual cost will be £65 per property, with different registration deadlines depending on where the property is located.

For Surrey and the South East, registration requirements begin from 15 March 2027, with a deadline of 14 June 2027.

For London, they begin from 15 July 2027, with a deadline of 14 October 2027.

The national service opens from 15 December 2026, so landlords will be able to register early.

There is a lot changing across the private rented sector, so we’ll keep sharing the important updates as they come in, without the jargon.
