Key Responsibilities
• You will assist in preparing a very wide range of legal accounting including Legal Aid, Sheriff and Court of Session Judicial, private client accounts and more.
• Review case files and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Support feeing work across various legal practice areas.
• You will be required to communicate with Solicitors, and the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
• Ensure accurate records are maintained and contribute to smooth office operations.
What we are looking for
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical confidence - You enjoy working with figures, spotting patterns, and getting things right the first time. Accuracy matters in this role, and you take pride in producing work you can stand behind.
• Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal - You can explain information in a straightforward, professional way and feel comfortable speaking with colleagues and clients as you grow into the role.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload – You’re someone who can balance tasks, meet deadlines, and stay calm and focused even when things get busy.
• Confidence with IT and Microsoft Office - You don’t need to be a tech wizard, but you should feel at ease using spreadsheets, documents, and digital tools as part of your daily work.
• A genuine eagerness to learn and develop professionally - This is a specialist career path, and we’ll support you every step of the way. All we ask is that you bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to grow your skills over time.
Ideal Background
• No prior experience required - Full training will be provided.
• HNC or HND in Legal Services (preferred, not essential) - Formal study in this area is a bonus, but we’re equally open to candidates with the right mindset and enthusiasm.
• Background or studies in law, accounting, or finance (preferred, not essential) Any exposure to these fields is helpful, but not a requirement. If you’re motivated and curious, we’ll support your development.
