**DBS MINDed TO BAR? Know Your Right to Make Representations**

If the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) writes to you inviting representations, you have an opportunity to explain your circumstances and provide relevant evidence before a final barring decision is made.

Your representations may include:
• Your account of what happened
• Relevant circumstances and context
• Evidence of change, learning or rehabilitation
• References, training or other supporting documents
• Any factual errors in the information provided by DBS

You will usually have **8 weeks** to respond.

Do not ignore a DBS representations letter. A barring decision can have serious consequences for your ability to work or volunteer in regulated activity.

**Tann Law Solicitors** can advise you on preparing your representations.
