Our next exciting piece of news! All of a sudden, our very own Carneddau Retreat is ready for guests, has a rapidly filling calendar, and we have hosted our first official guests! Feedback was that they didn't get up as early as planned to go hiking, because the bed was just too comfortable. We're sorry about that 🙂❤️🍾

All decorating and tiling was done by me, Ceri. We'd like to give huge thank yous to Terry, Cleeve Builders, for building, joinery and plumbing (and tiling tuition), Gareth and Ronan Moore for electrical work and certification, Rhian Jones for inspiration and problem solving, Nicole Kendall for design advice, and Melanie Short for her wonderful photos of the Carneddau ponies.

As we work frantically for our clients and guests through the summer, we've fallen behind on important announcements!

We have achieved Airbnb Superhost status for a full year! Vastly exceeding the required 4.75+ star rating.

We can take care of listing your property on various platforms and all of the guest liaison, leaving you carefree! (In relation to your holiday let at least!).

An adaptive and responsive service! We don't usually dust all the plants in the garden as part of a changeover, but that's exactly what was needed this morning after the devastating fire above Capelulo, with soot clinging to every cobweb

Hosting is about so much more than just cleaning! Today at 'head office' we've had a delightful chat with an outgoing guest, whose stay had been wonderful and very significant for her ❤️😘❤️, dropping off and collecting laundry for the team, becoming an expert on putting wifi extenders into Access Point Mode (we now know more about this than anyone who works at Currys), planning the staff rota for the whole summer, guest and client liaison, creating a canopy over our luxurious handmade 4 poster bed in our Carneddau Retreat, oh and cleaning!

The no-show guests. It's actually quite stressful for hosts, especially those of us who host from home and are consequently more conscious of our guests at all times. You work hard to prepare for the stay, and provide the guests with the information they need. On check-in days, I'm always more at ease once I know my guests have arrived and settled. When guests don't arrive, as a dillgent host, you wonder if they may still need something from you. My phone remains on all night. As a person, you wonder what might have happened. Has there been an accident? Is someone ill?

There can be all kinds of reasons why a guest's plans have changed at the last minute, and of course some of these mean that contacting a host is not going to be a priority right now. As a host, you accept that this will happen from time to time, but if your cancellation policy means that you still receive a full or partial payment, it really isn't money for nothing.

The final preparations for our own 'Carneddau Retreat' continue, with installation of a thumb-turn lock, for fire safety. It's a 5 minute job, if it all goes to plan (which it doesn't always, but fortunately today it did!). We've opted for the additional security of a registered key system, i.e. nobody else is able to get copies of the keys made

Introducing our latest recruit! Multi-talented Rachel, mother of two, is an experienced cleaner (as well as teacher and ecologist!) and is joining our housekeeping team in between semesters of her speech and language degree
