Last week, we welcomed students from Cardiff Metropolitan University to Capital Building for an introduction to life at the firm and the opportunities available to aspiring lawyers πŸ’‘πŸ–‹οΈ

Our recruitment team shared valuable guidance on our programme, offering practical insights into what we look for in candidates and how students can best prepare for a successful application.

Students also heard directly from trainee solicitors, Gruff Ford and Ben Jones, who spoke candidly about their personal journeys into law, their experiences at the firm, and the realities of training and developing within a commercial legal environment.

The workshop concluded with a networking lunch, where students had the opportunity to connect with our lawyers in a more informal setting. This created space for open conversations and meaningful connections. Thank you for joining us! 🀝

Capital Law is pleased to have supported the Gambling Commission on its path to victory, in what is an important judgment for preserving the future of the National Lottery and the many Good Causes it supports across the UK.

Following a lengthy trial in the High Court at the end of last year before Mrs Justice Joanna Smith, on 17 April 2026, the High Court rejected in full the claims brought by The New Lottery Company Limited (TNLC) and Northern & Shell PLC (N&S) against the Gambling Commission in relation to the award of the Fourth National Lottery Licence.
