CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) STATEMENT

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL OUR CLIENTS

We are all aware of the unfolding effect of the Coronavirus on our daily life, which may continue for the foreseeable future.

For the sake of minimising any disruption to our service delivery, for as long as possible, we would like to request that clients abstain from attending our offices physically, whenever possible and instead, either call, email, or video call on whatsapp, unless one has already booked a prior appointment with us.

We have given some thoughts to these measures and have not taken them lightly, but for the sake of yours and our health and safety. This in our view is the best option in the circumstances and in line with the governments guidelines restricting social contact and social distancing.

Our offices will continue to offer our best services to clients at all times, and take this opportunity to thank all our clients for their continued cooperation, especially at this difficult point in time.

For any further information, please do not hesitate to call our usual lines, both at our Rochester Office on 01634 787090 and our Bromley Office at 0203 302 8384 with Mobile Number 07824096390.

With regards to the cuts made to Legal Aid and difficulties people face with working long hours each week, we have decided to ensure JnJones Solicitors remains competitive in its legal fees/costs. Due to this we have now introduced a free legal surgery on the last Saturday of every month.

Please contact our office on 0203 302 8384 for further information and to book a suitable time slot for your free legal advice.

Did you know more than 3 million unmarried couples risk suffering a fortune in costs if they separate? Follow these 4 simple steps to protect your future financial stability.

1. Determine whether you should buy as either Joint Tenants or Tenants in Common! Joint Tenants co-own the whole property as equals, whereas Tenants in Common means you own a defined share of the property. Distinguish your investments in the property by opting to own a bigger proportion of the property under Tenants in Common. It is only fair!

2. Before purchasing a property with your partner, seek to put in place a legal cohabitation agreement/"Living Together Agreement". Doing so will determine what each party would receive should the relationship break down in the future. Be prepared!

3. Are you making payments towards the property but you are not on the mortgage? Unfortunately, these payments will only be viewed as 'rent' only. Solve this dilemma by getting a Declaration of Trust, which will recognise your contribution to the mortgage.

4. Ignoring the above could come back to haunt you! If your relationship fails and you cannot come to an amicable agreement, you could end up paying for legal advice and litigation costs which cause considerable financial hardship. Better to be safe than sorry!
