Before and after of a job we completed this week for a customer, she is looking forward to enjoying her garden and wanted me to help prep and paint this wall. The render was so damaged and the quotes she had received to repair it were well over her budget.

So we got our heads together and came up with a more budget friendly option of cladding it with feather edge fencing, also raising the level of the wall up by 20cm to provide a little more privacy.

She intends to whitewash it when she paints the other wall…should she:

A. leave it natural and let the sun bleach it over time
B. Whitewash it, so she retains the wood grain but is more I keeping with the style of the rest of the garden
C. Get Jon’s Jobs back to clad the other wall as well

Let’s talk about something boring. Shelving. A bread and butter job for all handymen and DIYers alike, not something you get excited about.

But what struck me recently during a couple of jobs is what a difference they make to the way you live, either aesthetically, functionally, or both.

If your house or garage could do with a little order or decluttering, let me know and we can get excited about shelves together!!

Once the Christmas decs have come down, the crazy season is over, I popped back to put up some pictures and some finishing touches to this lovely lounge project. I think the panelling looks great and really elevates the room. Will try and find a before picture for comparison!
