Looking forward to our BNI meeting on Tuesday at the Macron.
With 30+ local businesses, it is always a productive start of the day. Last year our members passed £1.89million of business between each other and we are looking to the same (or better) this year.

Great meeting this morning at BNI Bolton Central held at the Macron Stadium.Over 50 people present including Chris Green M.P. who gave an interesting and far reaching 10 minute speech. Good to see our MPs meeting small business owners and listening to their views.

More than 6 million people cohabit, that is live together without marrying. More than half of these do not realise that they have no legal protection if their partner dies without a Will. If you are cohabiting it is vital that both partners have a valid Will in place. Twelve months ago there were changes to the Rules of Intestacy and cohabitees still do not have any rights to their partner's estate if they die without leaving a Will. Make sure you and your partner draw up and execute a Will setting out what will happen when you are not around. Rules of Intestacy; how they might affect you;

A surviving partner who hasn't married or isn't in a civil partnership with the deceased has no automatic right to inherit anything. So if you have lived with your partner for 5 years or 25 years and the house where you live is in your partners sole name, should that partner die intestate (that is without leaving a will), you are unlikely to automatically inherit anything. Fair?
Possible remedies are:
Get married, potential cost £5000 or;
Get your partner to make a Will leaving his property and (everything else to you). Possible cost from £165.00.

If you said that most people don't make a Will because of apathy, you'd be right! People simply can't be bothered. And yet there's so little to do. Contact Craige Parkinson on 01204 497771 and he will come to your home* to discuss, take details of what you want, and return to make sure you execute it properly so you don't even have to leave the comfort of your armchair. He'll even come to your place of work if you would prefer. Any place* and any time too; appointments can be made for any weekday and most weekends too. And those people who can't be bothered, well their estates will be dealt with under the Rules of Intestacy. What are they?.....................................................find out tomorrow.
