Booking dot com are an absolute disgrace in regards to accepting responsibility for their service.
They have accepted a booking from Kirklees council social services staff, sending, on first appearance, a person with normal circumstances.
Oh boy, can this go bad, really quickly.
The end result is a host now stuck with a family of squatters, despite alternative arrangements being made for them.
Booking dot cons response?… allow me to quote their reply and watch my p**s boil!
“ RADIO SILENCE “ - they intend to respond within 48 hours!!!
The only way to deal with this company is a boycott or a criminal charge of misrepresentation or fraud against a council worker, which isn’t fair as they were simply doing a social service.
As a host of serviced accommodation you have to be aware of risking your assets,
Booking dot com must be pulling a lot of commissions from various UK councils, but are NOT backing up their hosts or backing claims of excellent service.
Basically their service is S**T!
Ie: none existent.
So what’s a host to do?
You call 999, ask for West Yorkshire Police and wait for their attendance. Then call social services, ( the people that booked it).
Prey to what ever you believe in, to grant you some salvation and be thankful it’s not a weekend.
Short term let’s are NOT residential, tenancies are NOT created and awkward guests are ‘Guests’, not tenants.
Once you get the property back, delist from Booking dot com and stick a finger in their pocket by switching to AirBnb, by far the best at supporting their hosts, from my own personal experience.
