Registration of EU Citizens in The Republic of Cyprus - "Yellow Slip"

European Union Citizens enjoy the advantage of traveling, residing and working in the Republic of Cyprus under the same conditions as Cypriot citizens.

An EU citizen who plans to stay for more than 90 days in the Republic of Cyprus is required under the Law, to attend the Civil Registry and Migration Department or any Immigration Office of his city he is residing and apply for the Registration Certificate most commonly known as “the Yellow Slip”.

The application and registration of an EU Citizen in the Republic of Cyprus must be submitted within the 3 months from the date of their entry to the Republic of Cyprus. The Registration Certificate for the EU nationals, the "Yellow slip", is issued the same day, is valid for a lifetime and does not need to be renewed.

However, the "Yellow slip" is granted to EU nationals who have either the financial resources for living in the Republic of Cyprus without working or to those who have secured a job in the Republic of Cyprus.

Investors Immigration Permit

Third country nationals may apply for an immigration permit and live permanently in Cyprus with their families if the main applicant invest at least €300,000 EUR in ONE of the following investment categories:

1) Investment in a house/apartment: Purchase of a house or apartment from a development company, which should concern a first sale of at least 300,000 EUR plus VAT.

or

2)Investment in real estate (excluding houses/apartments): Purchase of another form of real estate such as offices, shops, hotels or similar developments or a combination of these with a total value of €300,000. These properties may also be subject to resale.

Στην Κύπρο οι άδειες για λόγους απασχόλησης αποτελούσαν το 48,6% του συνόλου (16.874, με μείωση 12,2% ή 2347 αδειών σε σχέση με το 2022). Ακολουθούσαν οι οικογενειακοί λόγοι με 24,7% (8.564, με αύξηση 2.3% ή 193 αδειών), οι άλλοι λόγοι με 18,6% (6.446, με μείωση 31,2% ή 2.923 αδειών), και οι άδειες για λόγους εκπαίδευσης με 8,1% (2.810) οι οποίες επίσης σημείωσαν τη μεγαλύτερη αύξηση κατά 43,7% (+854).

Όσον αφορά τις χώρες από τις οποίες προέρχονται τα πρόσωπα που λαμβάνουν άδεια διαμονής, ο υψηλότερος αριθμός αδειών το 2023 στην ΕΕ εκδόθηκε για πολίτες της Ουκρανίας (307.313), τη Λευκορωσία (281.279) και την Ινδία (207.966). Ακολουθούν το Μαρόκο (179.195), η Συρία (168.667), η Τουρκία (122.128) και η Ρωσία (115.651).
