Darren is also highly experienced in the preparation of applications through the family class, including sponsorship of spouses and common-law partners from inside and outside Canada, as well as sponsorship of children and parents and the sponsorship of other relatives through humanitarian and compassionate grounds. He also assists clients in appeals work, enforcement work, the submission of applications to Federal Court, and he has appeared at the Immigration Division and the Immigration Appeals Division. After gaining experience at a leading Vancouver immigration firm, Darren ventured into independent practice, founding his own law firm in late 2019. Darren’s key strength is the ability to problem-solve and find creative solutions when faced with unique or difficult situations. As of 8:30 pm PST today, Mexican passport holders will require a visa to enter Canada, unless they are traveling by air and have either (1) held a Canadian visa in the past ten years; or (2) hold a valid US non-immigrant visa. In those cases, they can apply for an electronic travel authorization (eTA) for entry. All existing eTAs issued to Mexican passport holders will be cancelled tonight, unless the passport holder has been issued with a work permit or study permit.
