Planning to study in Canada? Your choice of institution and program can affect your eligibility for a **Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)**.

A Canadian qualification does not automatically guarantee a PGWP. Here are 4 important things every international student should know:

A Designated Learning Institution (DLI) is not automatically PGWP-eligible. Always verify whether your specific program qualifies.

🔹 **2. Field of Study Matters**
Certain college and non-degree programs must meet eligible field-of-study requirements. Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree graduates are exempt from this particular requirement, although other PGWP conditions still apply.

🔹 **3. Language Requirements Apply**
Most PGWP applicants must demonstrate language proficiency:
• University bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree graduates: CLB/NCLC 7
• College and other eligible non-university program graduates: CLB/NCLC 5

The Third Level Graduate Programme may allow eligible international graduates to remain in Ireland after completing an eligible qualification and look for employment or explore employment-permit options.
