Six more Canadian cities are now closed to low-wage work permits. 🇨🇦

As of October 9, 30 of Canada’s 41 census metropolitan areas are affected, with restrictions in place until January 7, 2027.

But here is what you need to know:

✅ Restrictions depend on the job location, not the company.

✅ Jobs meeting the provincial high-wage threshold may be exempt.

✅ Eleven cities remain open, and some sectors are exempt.

✅ The list changes quarterly, with the next update on January 8, 2027.

⚠️ If your work permit is expiring, apply before it expires to maintain your status.

We said no.

Months later, that exact application is the one that gave her permanent residence.

Here is what almost nobody tells you. You are allowed to have more than one permanent residence application open at the same time. IRCC says so in writing, and we put their words on slide seven so you can read it yourself.

It is Express Entry Draw Week.🥳🇨🇦

If your Express Entry profile has been sitting quietly, you are not imagining it. But silence does not mean you should stop planning.

As we move further into the final quarter of 2026, understanding the pattern behind this year’s draws matters more than ever. The invitations issued, the categories prioritised, and the scores selected can tell us a lot about where opportunities have been concentrated.

So, we went back to the numbers.

We reviewed every Express Entry draw from January to October 2026, looking at the categories, invitations issued, and CRS cut-off scores. Three findings stood out.

📊 Two categories accounted for a significant share of invitations. If you are not eligible under either, you need to understand where your profile fits into the bigger picture.

👀 One category recorded a cut-off score that might surprise you. We break it down on slide four.

🚪 One pathway has remained quiet for months. But how long should you keep waiting before reconsidering your strategy?

Here is the truth: Your CRS score is important, but your immigration strategy cannot begin and end with your points.

Your eligibility, work experience, category-specific criteria, provincial opportunities, and timing all matter.

THANKSGIVING: A MOMENT TO LOOK BACK

You may not be where you wish you were yet.

But pause for a moment and remember:

You are not where you used to be.

There was a time you prayed for the things you have today.

The opportunity you once hoped for.
The home you once dreamed about.
The stability you once longed for.
The courage to start again.

The person helping with your immigration application may not be the one who faces the consequences if something goes wrong.

When you submit an application to IRCC, you are responsible for the information and documents included in your file—even when someone else prepared or submitted them for you.

A false document, an important fact left undisclosed, or incorrect advice about what to include can potentially lead to a misrepresentation finding.

Under IRPA section 40, misrepresentation can result in 5 years of inadmissibility to Canada.

That’s why it’s important to:
✔️ Review everything before it is submitted
✔️ Be truthful and complete in your answers
✔️ Ask questions when you are unsure
✔️ Make sure the person representing you is authorized to do so

Your immigration application is too important to leave to chance.
