We are so grateful to have Sara on the NPAA board. Sara is a Nurse Practitioner whose clinical experience spans long-term care, family practice, acute care, intensive care, and emergency settings, bringing a truly diverse perspective to our team.

Meet our Membership Director, Crystal Wilson.

We are so grateful to have Crystal on the NPAA board. With 30 years of experience spanning primary care, critical care, surgical oncology, neurology, and neurosurgery, she brings an incredible depth of knowledge and perspective to our team.

Crystal also holds a graduate certification in chronic pain and has spent her career focused on thorough assessment, education, and shared decision-making with her patients.

As Membership Director, she is passionate about advancing access to high-quality primary care and supporting the continued growth of the NP profession in Alberta. We are lucky to have her.

Meet our Director of Rural Primary Care, Chimnonyelim “Nonye” Nwachukwu.

Nonye is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of healthcare experience across oncology, home care, virtual care, and primary care, and she currently practices in rural Alberta.

She is passionate about mentorship, supporting NP students in clinical placements, and advocating for greater rural practice opportunities to strengthen recruitment and retention across the province.

Nonye is also the founder of a virtual women’s health clinic focused on perimenopause, menopause, and midlife health - bringing innovative care to patients who need it most.

As Director of Rural Primary Care, she is focused on equitable access, rural healthcare, and advancing the NP profession across Alberta.

Meet our Vice President, Linda Wonitoway-Raw.

Linda has spent over 15 years building experience in primary care, women’s health, and mental health and addictions across Alberta. She currently practices in downtown Edmonton, teaches in the University of Alberta’s Master of Nursing NP program, and advocates with policymakers to advance NP practice across the province.

We are proud to have her leading alongside us as Vice President.

This is what expanding primary care in Alberta looks like.

Mary Obstfeld has been a Nurse Practitioner in the Cold Lake area since 2016 and is now working to open the Ardmore Family Primary Care Clinic, bringing much needed primary care to a community that has long struggled to access consistent care.

Mary is also currently helping Cold Lake First Nations transform its health centre into a primary care clinic. Her commitment to rural and underserved communities is something we are incredibly proud to see from an Alberta NP.

Stories like Mary's are exactly why the NPAA advocates for NPs to practice to their full scope across the province. We cannot wait to see what Mary builds in Ardmore.
