As of March 2026, first time home buyers can apply to have the GST portion of their new build, or substantially renovated home refunded.

•For homes valued $1 million or less, the rebate returns 100% (with a maximum of $50,000).
•For homes valued between $1 million and $1.5 million, the rebate is gradually reduced.
•No rebate is available for homes purchased over $1.5 million.

A condominium is a style of ownership. This means that a condominium could be anything such as bare land, a detached home, townhomes, etc.
✔️ Condominiums have sets of bylaws that you have to follow. The condo fees cover shared spaces (hallways, gyms, landscaping, etc.)
✔️ Apartments are condo style- 1 floor units. (Can be either high rise or low rise). They also have condo fees and shared spaces. Apartments are often cheaper than a townhome or detached home, giving first time home buyers a great opportunity to step into the market and begin building equity.
