SEPTEMBER 30
NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION
Every child deserved to come home.
Every child deserved to belong.
Behind every child taken from their family was a home waiting for their return, a language they deserved to speak, and a childhood that should have been filled with love and safety.
Today, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and the families and communities who continue to carry the impacts across generations.
At 2M Immigration Services, our work centres on people seeking a place to belong. That responsibility reminds us that welcoming people to Canada must include learning the truth about this land and listening to the First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples whose histories and voices must be heard.
For those of us who have made Canada our home, there is a responsibility to learn, to listen with humility, and to help build a future grounded in dignity and respect.
Reconciliation asks something of each of us—today and beyond.
We remember the children.
We honour the Survivors.
We commit to continuing to learn.
🧡 Every Child Matters.
