🇦🇺🚨Australia Migration Update 2026.
Major changes are coming to Australia migration system.
Key changes to know:
𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: family members will generally no longer be included with most new student slash graduate visa applications. Some exceptions apply, including certain PhD pathways.
𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴: Australia is moving to restrict repeated switching between temporary visas simply to extend stays.
𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀: no further stay conditions will be strengthened to prevent visitors from using visitor visas to extend their stay through another visa pathway.
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: action against visa overstayers and people without lawful status will be strengthened.
𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: healthcare, construction, education, law enforcement, defense resources, agriculture, aquaculture and fishing will receive greater priority.
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁: these changes are expected to be introduced progressively over the next 12 months. Exact rules and implementation dates may vary.
