আমার ছবিগুলো দেখলেই বুঝবেন, আমি একই পোশাক বারবার পরি। আমি এতে গর্ববোধ করি, কারণ সত্যিকারের স্টাইল নতুন পোশাকে নয়, সচেতন সিদ্ধান্তে।
মডেলিং শুরু করেছিলাম খুব ছোটবেলায়। দেখতে দেখতে প্রায় ১৮–১৯ বছর হয়ে গেল। এই দীর্ঘ সময়ে দেশি-বিদেশি অসংখ্য ব্র্যান্ডের সঙ্গে কাজ করার সুযোগ হয়েছে। ফ্যাশন আমার পেশার একটি বড় অংশ, তাই নতুন নতুন পোশাকের সঙ্গে আমার পরিচয় সবসময়ই ছিল।
কিন্তু একটা প্রশ্ন আমাকে সবসময় ভাবাতো, আমরা এত পোশাক তৈরি করছি, এত পোশাক কিনছি… তারপর সেগুলোর কী হয়?
ফ্যাশন শিল্প বিশ্বের মোট কার্বন নিঃসরণের প্রায় ৮–১০% এর জন্য দায়ী। শুধু একটি সাধারণ কটন টি-শার্ট তৈরি করতেই লাগে প্রায় ২,৭০০ লিটার পানি। তখন বুঝলাম, বিষয়টা শুধু ফ্যাশনের নয়; এটি পরিবেশ, প্রাণী, শ্রমিক এবং আমাদের ভবিষ্যতেরও বিষয়।
আমি কখনোই মনে করি না যে একটি পোশাক একবার পরেই আলমারিতে তুলে রাখতে হবে। বরং আমি বিশ্বাস করি, একটি পোশাক যত বেশি ব্যবহার করা যায়, সেটাই সবচেয়ে দায়িত্বশীল ফ্যাশন।
আমরা হয়তো একা পৃথিবী বদলে দিতে পারব না। কিন্তু সচেতনভাবে কেনাকাটা করা, প্রয়োজন ছাড়া নতুন পোশাক না কেনা, আর নিজের প্রিয় পোশাকগুলো বারবার পরা—এসব ছোট ছোট অভ্যাসই বড় পরিবর্তনের শুরু হতে পারে।
ফ্যাশন সুন্দর হোক, কিন্তু সেই সৌন্দর্যের মূল্য যেন আমাদের পৃথিবী, প্রাণী বা ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে দিতে না হয়।
If you’ve seen my photos over the years, you’ve probably noticed that I wear the same outfits again and again. I’m proud of that because true style isn’t about wearing something new every time—it’s about making conscious choices.
I started modeling at a very young age, and it’s been almost 18–19 years since I’ve had the privilege of working with many national and international brands. Fashion has always been a significant part of my life, so I have always been surrounded by new collections and new trends.
But one question has always stayed with me: We produce so many clothes, we buy so many clothes… what actually happens to them after we’ve worn them?
When I started learning more about fast fashion, I realized it wasn’t just about clothing. The fashion industry is responsible for around 8–10% of global carbon emissions, and producing just one cotton T-shirt requires approximately 2,700 liters of water. That’s when I understood that this is not only a fashion issue—it is an environmental issue, an animal welfare issue, a workers’ rights issue, and ultimately, a responsibility we all share.
I’ve never believed that an outfit should only be worn once. The longer we use our clothes, the more responsible our choices become.
None of us can change the world alone. But buying more consciously, avoiding unnecessary purchases, and wearing the clothes we already love a little longer are small habits that can create meaningful change.
Fashion should always be beautiful—but that beauty should never come at the expense of our planet, animals, or future generations.
