The people who are truly driving change are not the ones looking for a photo op. They are the ones quietly doing the work. They are the ones who understand that the fight for a healthier planet is not a sprint, and it’s not even a marathon—it is a permanent shift in pace.

It is accepting the "losses"—the extra time, the social awkwardness, the immediate gratification of convenience—for a long-term gain that we may not even fully see in our lifetime.

So, let us be clear: This life is not always pretty. It is not always convenient. It is a commitment to doing the work even when no one is watching, even when the "trend" moves on to something else. We choose to continue, not because it is the fashionable thing to do, but because the Earth doesn't have the option to give up on us.

And that is a responsibility we refuse to abandon.

The challenges ahead are monumental. The climate crisis, rising inequality, and global health threats know no borders. They cannot be solved by walls or by working in silos. They can only be solved by working together.

SDG 17 is an invitation to look up from our individual tasks and see the larger picture. It’s a reminder that we are not just 8 billion people living on one planet. We are one crew on a single, magnificent ship.

When we pool our resources, share our knowledge, and align our values, we transform small acts into a global movement. We turn isolation into solidarity.

Together, we don't just reach the goals. Together, we build the future.

We often measure a country's progress by its economic growth—its GDP, its infrastructure, or its technological advancements. But what is the foundation upon which all of this is built? Without a stable floor, even the most beautiful structure will crumble.

This is the core message of Sustainable Development Goal Number 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. It is the often-overlooked bedrock upon which all other sustainable development rests. You cannot have thriving communities, economic prosperity, or a healthy environment if a significant portion of the population lives in fear, without access to fair treatment, or excluded from the decisions that shape their lives.

Protecting our planet’s "life on land" is not just an environmental goal; it is a necessity for a stable and equitable future. So, how do we reverse the trend?

The answer lies in how we manage our resources. Promoting sustainable forest management is crucial. This approach balances the demand for forest products—like wood and paper—with the need to preserve the forest’s ecological functions. It means harvesting resources in a way that maintains the forest's biodiversity, productivity, and vitality for generations to come.

Furthermore, we must get serious about controlling logging. This involves enforcing laws against illegal logging, protecting ancient and primary forests, and supporting certified sustainable wood products. It also means restoring degraded forests through large-scale reforestation projects.

Protecting life on land is a monumental task, but it is one of the most important investments we can make. By valuing our forests, deserts, and mountains not just for their resources but for their role in the Earth’s life-support system, we can ensure that these vital ecosystems continue to thrive. The future of the species that live on land—including our own—depends on it.

In the spirit of the July 2024 revolution, the people of Bangladesh are active participants in shaping a new era of accountability and transparency. We are expecting from our Parliament representatives to:

Disclose their responsibilities and actions transparently.
Work closely with the community to address real needs.
Unite to overcome challenges and build a prosperous nation.

Hasnat Abdullah has set a powerful example of what it means to be accountable to the people.

Looking forward to seeing more MPs follow his lead in strengthening the bond between representatives and the people they serve. Together, we can build a Bangladesh rooted in honesty, unity, and progress.

Welcome, Hasnat Abdullah! Let us work together for a brighter future.

The ocean connects us all. It does not recognize borders, and its health ultimately dictates the health of our planet.

For the sake of the ocean, for the sake of the millions of species that call it home, and for the sake of our own future, we must act now. Let’s turn the tide.

14/03/2026

The task ahead is monumental, but the human spirit is resilient. We have the technology, the knowledge, and the resources to turn the tide. What we need now is the will.

We must move beyond seeing climate action as a political issue and recognize it as a survival issue. Our planet is facing more challenges than ever before, but by embracing SDG 13, we are choosing hope over despair and action over apathy.

Let’s stand together on the frontlines. Let’s protect our planet and build a safer, more sustainable future for everyone. The time to act is not tomorrow—it is now.

The moment matters. Words spoken inside parliament are not just arguments; they become part of the national narrative.

13/03/2026

We cannot shop our way to a sustainable future, but we can consume our way there. It requires us to be more mindful, more informed, and more deliberate. It asks us to see beyond the easy transaction and recognize the web of resources, people, and energy behind every product.

In a world where buying is easy, let's make thinking the norm. Let's make our choices count. Because sustainability doesn't start in a distant forest or a far-off factory; it starts with us, right here, with the very next thing we decide to buy—or not to buy.

12/03/2026

Let’s continue working together to build communities that care for both people and the planet. Communities where progress goes hand-in-hand with compassion, and where every step forward—whether it’s a new bike lane, a community garden, or an affordable housing project—leads us to a brighter, greener, and more equitable future for all.

The dream of a sustainable city is not a distant utopia; it’s a future we can build, brick by brick, conversation by conversation, starting today.

We stand today at the precipice of a new parliamentary session.

This moment is more than the opening of another legislative term. It is more than a routine gathering of elected representatives. It is a moment written in the sacrifices of the people.

The citizens who bled for change are watching.

The people have already spoken.
They spoke from the streets.
They spoke with courage.
They spoke with sacrifice.
And through the referendum vote, their message became undeniable.
Now it is our turn.

By formally recognizing the July Movement within our highest laws, we do more than look back with reverence.
Tomorrow, we are not merely opening a parliamentary session.
We are opening a new chapter of Bangladesh.
By establishing July Charter, we will endure, people-centered democracy.

Welcome to the Parliament of a new dawn.

The goal of a more equal world isn't a utopian fantasy. It's a practical necessity for a thriving, peaceful, and sustainable future. It’s a world where we recognize that our fates are intertwined—that a threat to the dignity of one is a threat to the dignity of all.

Let’s stop accepting the fault lines. Let’s push for fairness, opportunity, and dignity for all. When we lift each other up, we don't just help them rise. We build a foundation strong enough for all of us to stand on.
