Thank you to all our members who attended last week’s CPD event, it was fantastic to see such a strong turnout.

We extend our sincere thanks to Connolly Suthers Lawyers for generously providing its boardroom for the evening.

A special thank you to Bill O'Toole and Mathai Joshi for their insightful presentation. Your discussion on the Harman Undertaking, recent Legal Services Commission cases, and the recent amendments to the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 (Qld) provided practical guidance and made for an engaging and highly valuable session.

We appreciate the continued support by our members and look forward to seeing you at our next event.

On Friday 13 March 2026, the Townsville District Law Association had the privilege of hosting a special Valedictory Lunch in honour of His Honour Justice David North.

We extend our sincere thanks to Justice North for his many years of dedicated service to the Townsville legal profession. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on his remarkable contribution and to celebrate his career with colleagues and friends. We wish Justice North and Jane every happiness in their retirement and all the very best for the years ahead.

Thank you to Justice Johnstone, Claire Grant KC, and Sarah-Jane MacDonald for their thoughtful and entertaining toasts to Justice North, which made the occasion even more memorable.

We are also grateful to the Queensland Law Society and the North Queensland Bar Association for their support in helping make the event possible, and to Ardo for hosting us and providing a beautiful four-course lunch.

Finally, thank you to our members and guests for their attendance and continued support of TDLA events. It was fantastic to see the profession come together to celebrate such an important occasion — a great afternoon and a success all round.
