An inspiring few days at the Airbnb Host Summit 2026 last month 🏡🌟

Grateful to have been one of 300 hosts from across Australia and New Zealand invited to connect, learn and hear firsthand what’s next for the short-stay accommodation industry.

From exciting new AI features to strategies driving guest demand, it was a valuable opportunity to gain insights from industry leaders across Airbnb, SiteMinder, Guesty, Resly and more.

One message that really resonated came from Samantha Lawson, Chief Product Officer at SiteMinder:

“Be AI native, but human enriched.”

Coming from someone leading AI strategy at that level, it’s inspiring. Automate the admin, protect the heart of hospitality. That's exactly how we approach every property we manage at Sublime Experiences.

One of the things I love most about being an Airbnb host is that I can take the job anywhere with me 🤍

This photo was taken while I was in New Zealand, and even though I was away, I could still stay connected with my guests and keep everything running smoothly.

Hosting gives me the flexibility to work from wherever I am, without being tied to one place. It's one of the biggest reasons I love what I do.

During my time in Christchurch, I had the pleasure of visiting my friend, fellow host and Community Leader, Angela. She has created two beautiful stays, and it's clear how much care goes into every detail.

From the cosy interiors and beautiful styling to the thoughtful treats waiting for guests, every little extra makes you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. It's these personal touches that transform a great stay into one guests will remember long after they've checked out.

Low season doesn’t have to mean low bookings!

It’s all about knowing what’s happening in your area and positioning your listing around it.

In Townsville, winter brings big NRL games, events, and concerts. That means people are actively searching for places to stay close to the action.

If your property is near a stadium, event space, or even a popular venue… make it clear.

Add it into your listing:

〰️ “Close to major events”

These are the things that help your listing show up when people are searching.

How cute are these kitchen touches 🍽️

It’s not over the top, but it’s enough to create that homely, elevated feel.
You don’t need to overcomplicate your Airbnb or spend on expensive extras. It’s the small, thoughtful details that make the difference. W**e glasses ready to go, matching coffee mugs, simple styling that makes the space feel considered.

Guests notice how a space feels, not how much you spent.

Getting to know a little about your guests and the reason for their stay allows you to personalise the experience.

In this case, we knew our guest was celebrating a birthday, so my amazing team left a personalised note waiting for her when she arrived.

It’s thoughtful touches like this that make a stay feel truly special and often what encourages guests to return again in the future.

Guests expect certain essentials when they stay at an Airbnb.

At a minimum, shampoo and conditioner, body soap and hand soap should always be provided. These are considered basic necessities, not added extras, and help guests feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.

To elevate the stay, it’s the small kitchen staples that make a big difference. Items like cooking oil, salt and pepper remove friction and make the space feel easy to use, especially for guests staying more than one night.

Cover the essentials, then add a few thoughtful touches that help guests settle in without needing an immediate trip to the shops ✨

I’m excited to share that myself, Emma and Jess have been recognised as top Airbnb hosts in Townsville based on the latest market data.

This reflects the hard work, consistency and dedication we each put into creating high-quality stays and positive guest experiences. Hosting well takes intention, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to doing things properly.

It’s also exciting to see one of my Sublime listings, Luxe Allawah, named as a top-performing property. Results like these don’t happen by chance and I’m incredibly proud of what’s been built.
