When we started The Agents Cleaner, it was purely a real estate play.
We saw properties, agents, checklists and empty rooms, it was transactional.
But a business like this changes when you actually start stepping inside the walls where people live.The raw reality of this job is that sometimes, we are the only face a person sees or the only direct human contact they have for days. You realise very quickly that you aren't just cleaning a house; you are stepping into a life.
Over the years, we’ve found ourselves quietly walking alongside people through their heaviest seasons. We’ve stood in homes thick with the stress of families forced out of rentals due to landlord mortgage pressures. We’ve sat with people in the middle of severe mental health crises, supported them through the shock of car accidents, and carried the quiet grief of losing clients and watching them lose the people they loved.
Behind closed doors, life is incredibly fragile. It isn’t neat, and it isn’t tidy while we've been seeing this on the job, our own personal life has been shifting too, building and carrying the Lucas legacy forward, we welcomed our son, Jebadiah, who just hit
8 1/2 months old at the same time we’ve watched our own close circle of family and friends navigate massive complications and heartbreak of their own.
Going through your own life transition changes the lens you look through. It humbles you it makes you realise that what people often need more than a spotless house is just a bit of fundamental human kindness.
To anyone in our community who is carrying something heavy right now: you aren't as isolated as you feel we see you, we hear you, and we don't take it lightly when you open your door to us.
