It’s been a little while since we posted – things have been wonderfully busy here at Patterson & Co Family Law… and the team is growing faster than we ever imagined!

When we opened our doors in July 2024, we started with a team of two. Since then, we’ve welcomed Marie and Luke (who we’ll introduce over the coming days), and now we’re looking to expand once again.

We’re incredibly proud of the team we’re building, comprised of colleagues who are not only skilled and passionate, but who also contribute to a culture grounded in care, capability, and genuine support for one another and our clients. We’re also proud of the supportive and flexible environment we’ve built. One where every role is valued and contributes to something that matters.

While we're always excited to hear from anyone who thinks they'd make a great addition to our team, we’re currently specifically looking for:
• Legal Finance Clerk – ideal for someone with a head for numbers and an eye for detail
• Paralegals – for those studying or experienced in law who want to make a real impact
• File Management Clerks – perfect for organised, team-focused individuals (no legal experience needed!)

⚫️ ⚫️ Patterson & Co Family Law is officially one week old today so we thought it would be the perfect time to introduce you to our namesake and Partner, John Patterson.

John is admitted as a Solicitor in both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. For the duration of his decade-long family law career, John has been dedicated to serving clients in the Darling, Western Downs and Brisbane regions. John holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, as well as a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics.

With extensive experience across the many and varied areas of family law, John excels in managing complex financial matters, leveraging his strong background in business. His expertise includes trust and corporate structuring, self-managed superannuation funds, spousal maintenance, and the preparation of Financial and Child Support Agreements. By collaborating with his strong network of local professionals such as accountants and financial planners, John ensures his clients' financial circumstances are considered fully and employs a well-rounded, strategic approach to achieve the best possible outcomes.

John is also adept in dispute resolution, domestic violence cases, and parenting matters, including those involving relocation, parental alienation, complex mental health issues, substance abuse, and family violence. His calm and approachable nature helps clients feel at ease during some of the most challenging times in their lives. John's pragmatic and balanced approach is highly regarded by his clients and colleagues alike.

John has been consistently recognized in the Doyle's Guide since his first entry in 2022, a testament to his exceptional skill and dedication in the field of family law.
