Excellent and clear submission from the LGB Alliance New Zealand
to the Legislation (Definitions of Woman and Man) Amendment Bill.
"Our submission starts from the Human Rights Act 1993, which protects s*x and separately recognises s*xual orientation, which means a heteros*xual, homos*xual, le***an, and bis*xual orientation.
Clear s*x definitions are needed so s*x-based rights, privacy, dignity, safety, sport, services, data and freedom of expression work properly for everyone, especially women and girls.
For le***ans, gay men and bis*xual people, they are also essential to protect s*xual orientation, association and the ability to maintain same-s*x boundaries. Same-s*x boundaries and association are not unlawful discrimination. They are the ordinary expression of s*xual orientation, dignity and freedom of association."-LBG Alliance NZ.
If s*x is unclear, s*xual orientation is unclear. If s*x is replaced by gender identity, homos*xuality is redefined." LGB Alliance NZ

Incredibly concerning to see the Queensland Human Rights Commission queering the law way back in 2016 - lobbying from the commission for single s*x facilities in shopping centres to becoming unis*x.

Every woman and girl concerned about our privacy, dignity and safety being actively degraded on the QHRC’s activist watch should write to the attorney general Deb Frecklington MP currently reviewing the discrimination act and encourage her to remind the QHRC that parliament writes the law and the commission merely applies it.

The Women's Rights Party New Zealand has announced its list candidates who are standing for the NZ general election in November. If the WRP gets 5% of the vote, it will have six MPs in parliament. Even if it doesn't hit the 5% threshold, a vote for the WRP lets the country know that women's s*x -based rights are important to voters.

Thirteen candidates are standing for the Women’s Rights Party.

New Zealand women raise the unique NZ Women's Suffrage flag for the first time at Parliament House in Wellington and at Kate Shepherd House in Christchurch.

New Zealand was was the first country in the world where women won the vote, in 1893.
Now a flag has been created to commemorate this achievement. It features the white camellia, which the suffragists gave to the parliamentarians to wear, who were going to vote for women's suffrage in September 1893.
Kate Shepherd was a leading women's suffragist who is commemorated on New Zealand bank notes.
