πŸ”·Reminder: Subclass 189 Invitation Round Is Happening TodayπŸ”·

The Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) invitation round is underway today, and many applicants are eagerly waiting for updates.

For those with an active EOI through Healy Daloia, we will notify you as soon as we receive your invitation update.

Official SkillSelect data highlights so far:

πŸ”Ή August 2025: 6,887 invitations issued
πŸ”Ή November 2025: 10,000 invitations issued

What is the Subclass 189 visa?

The Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) visa is one of Australia’s most popular and flexible permanent residency pathways because it offers:

βœ… Permanent residency from grant
βœ… No employer or state sponsorship required
βœ… Freedom to live and work anywhere in Australia
βœ… Eligible pathways to Australian citizenship
βœ… Ability to include eligible family members in your application

The visa is invitation-based and points-tested, with invitations issued according to factors including points ranking and occupation demand. Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not automatically guarantee an invitation.

Wishing the best of luck to everyone waiting for exciting news today! πŸ€

πŸ”· Important Update for Student Visa Review Applicants πŸ”·

From 1 June 2026, changes to the Migration Act 1958 have officially come into effect and may significantly impact student visa review cases.

Key changes:

βœ… Most student visa refusal reviews will now be decided without an oral hearing ("on the papers").
βœ… This applies to:

- Existing review applications that have not yet been assigned to a Tribunal member
- New review applications lodged on or after 1 June 2026

What this means:

πŸ”Ή Your written submissions and supporting evidence may now become the most important part of your case.
πŸ”Ή You may no longer have an opportunity to explain concerns directly at a hearing in many cases.
πŸ”Ή If you have already received a hearing listing notice, your hearing will proceed as scheduled.
πŸ”Ή If your current review is affected, the Tribunal will contact you directly.

⚠️ Applicants should ensure that documents, evidence, explanations, and submissions are complete, clear, and submitted on time.

πŸ”· South Australia Migration Update: New ROI Submissions Closed for 2025-26 πŸ”·

The South Australian Government has officially announced that the Registration of Interest (ROI) portal is now closed to new submissions for the remainder of the 2025-26 program year.

While the last formal invitation round was conducted on 21 May 2026 and the submission window has closed, the state has indicated that further invitation activity may still take place to optimise the allocation of remaining nomination places for the current program year.

Once all nomination places are used, any applications approved will be nominated after South Australia receives its nomination allocation for the next program year.

South Australia will resume accepting ROIs when the 2026-27 program commences.
