The Philippines is still classified as Level 3. That’s why, if you are studying at a school that is Level 2 or Level 3 and you plan to apply for a student visa, you are required to demonstrate financial capacity—also known as “show money.”

However, did you know there is an alternative option?

You can instead provide evidence that your spouse or parents are willing to support you financially, and that they meet the required minimum annual income threshold.

🇬🇧 BIG CHANGES to the UK Immigration System

👨‍⚕️ 1. Adult Social Care

❌ No more new care workers coming from other countries.

✅ If you’re already working as a care worker in the UK, you can stay or extend your visa until 2028.

📢 Reason: The UK wants to train more local people to do care jobs instead of hiring from outside.

🎓 2. International Students

📚 Schools and colleges must follow stricter rules to accept foreign students.

⏳ After studying, students can now stay only for 18 months (before it was 2 years).

📢 Reason: Make sure only genuine students come and schools follow the rules.

🗣️ 3. English Language

🗣️ You’ll need to show better English skills to come to the UK.

👨‍👩 This applies to both the main applicant and their family.

📈 The UK will check if your English improves over time.

📢 Reason: To help people live better, get jobs, and talk easily in the UK.

🏡 4. Settlement & Citizenship

⏳ You now need to live in the UK for 10 years (not 5) before applying to stay forever.

🧠 A points-based system will be used to decide who can become a UK citizen.

📢 Reason: The UK wants people who contribute (help the country) — by working, paying tax, speaking English, etc.

💼 5. Skilled Workers

📈 Only people with graduate-level jobs (RQF 6) and higher salaries can apply.

❌ No more salary discounts for certain jobs.

📢 Reason: The UK wants truly skilled people, not to lower standards just to fill jobs.

👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 6. Family Visas

⚖️ The UK will make the rules clearer.

❌ No more using family excuses to stop legal deportation when it’s in the public interest.

📢 Reason: Make it fair, but not too easy to stay if rules are broken.

❗ 8. Tougher Rules on Abuse

⛔ If someone lies or abuses the visa system, they will face penalties or restrictions.

💸 Sponsors (schools/employers) who break the rules can be fined.

📢 Reason: To make sure the system is fair and trusted.

🚨 9. Foreign Criminals

⚖️ Even people not sent to prison but guilty of serious crimes may be deported.

👩‍🦰 Focus on violence against women and girls will be stronger.

📢 Reason: Keep the UK safe for everyone.

🛡️ 10. Asylum & Border Control

🛬 New rules coming soon for people who claim asylum.

🚫 Claims will be harder if their home country is still safe.

📢 Reason: Stop unfair use of asylum and protect the system for real refugees

Be careful if someone encourages you to apply for a Student visa as a way to stay and work in Australia if you’re on a Visitor visa.

New laws now restrict you from applying for a Student visa or Student Guardian visa while in Australia if you’re on a Visitor visa.

Visitor visas are for holidays, and to visit family and friends. They are not a pathway to a Student visa.

Nomination allocations do not reflect the total number of visa applicants in these categories and do not limit the number of visas able to be granted in these visa categories.
