That is a wrap on Hospitality at a Crossroads: Productivity, Policy and Profitability in 2026 and Beyond at Fine Food Australia.

Grateful to have had our Principal Partner, Farhan Rehman, on the panel alongside Carlo Trieste (Global Skills Connect), Melissa Goffin (Red Gum BBQ) and Wes Lambert CPA, FGIA, CAE, AAiP, MAICD (Australian Restaurant & Cafe Association), unpacking the workforce shortages, migration challenges and compliance pressures reshaping hospitality this year.

The conversation made one thing clear. The businesses that will thrive over the next 12 months are the ones prioritising the right actions now, not reacting once the pressure hits.

Thank you to Fine Food Australia for hosting a session that mattered.

Received a request for further information on a 482 nomination? Don't panic. An RFI is not a refusal. It is the Department flagging a gap before it will approve your case, and how you respond can decide the outcome.

RFIs are becoming more common in 2026, with case officers scrutinising genuine need, business viability and salary benchmarking more closely than before.

The employers who come out on top treat an RFI as urgent, address every point raised, and back their response with a clear, consistent narrative across all documents submitted.

Swipe through for the most common triggers and how to respond.

Received an RFI, or want your next 482 nomination built to avoid one? Contact RSG today.

Yesterday, we welcomed our second intake of 2026 interns from Victoria University Law School through our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Program. Over the coming weeks, they will work alongside our legal team, gain practical experience and develop a deeper understanding of legal practice beyond the classroom.

To our new interns, welcome to Rehman Sheriff Group. We hope this placement gives you the confidence to ask questions, build your skills and make the most of every opportunity. We look forward to seeing what you will achieve during your time with us.

Thank you to Pam Christou and the team at Victoria University for your continued partnership, and to Farhan Rehman, Flora Dinh, and Cindy for supporting the program and helping create meaningful learning opportunities for the next generation of legal professionals.
