“My employer is ready to sponsor me.”
Sounds straightforward. But there’s an important distinction many applicants miss:
Sponsorship and nomination are not the same step.
An employer may be able to sponsor, but the specific position, occupation, salary, nomination requirements and your own eligibility still need to line up.
That’s why an employer’s willingness to sponsor should be treated as a starting point for assessment — not the end of the conversation.
Before you ask “Can my employer sponsor me?”, a better question is:
“Does my employer, role and profile actually fit the pathway I’m considering?”
If you're currently working in Australia and your employer has mentioned sponsorship, what did they actually tell you — “sponsorship” or “nomination”? 👇

Visa pathways and eligibility depend on individual circumstances.
