Today, Michael Bond, Legal Practitioner Director of the firm attended a family law mediation at the Mediation & Arbitration Centre, Inns of Court, Brisbane.

Our client was very grateful for us to have been able to brief extremely experienced barrister Mr Richard Galloway in the matter.

Very thankful that the matrimonial property issues settled, after significant negotiations.

The matter is currently at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, in Brisbane. The case is now likely to be dismissed after the granting of consent orders (provided the court decides that the consent orders are "just & equitable" to the parties).

The parties briefed a very experienced mediator, being a Kings Counsel.

It is hard to place a value on the certainty of settling litigation, when compared to the protracted costs and delay of potentially uncertain court decisions.

Michael Bond's (the firm's Legal Practitioner Director) great-grandfather Oliver Bond practised law in Kingaroy for decades. Oliver was also the Mayor of Kingaroy and passed away in office in the late 1940s.

We thank Michael's family members Belinda Lewis and Janeen Bougoure for giving 🙏 us Oliver Bond's Legal Practising Certificate, which admitted Oli as a solicitor of the Supreme Court, Queensland on the 30 August 1910 (photo of the certificate and of Oli is attached).

Michael's father, grand-father, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather (on the Bond side) were all farmers/ graziers or had significant agricultural interests in and around the Moonie, Dalby and Kingaroy areas.
